Arnutti, Alejandro
Painter born in Artigas (Uruguay) on December 30, 1981.
Since he was four years old, drawing was his main hobby and at the age of eight he already showed his interest by enrolling in the Drawing Workshop of the House of Culture in Artigas (Brazil). After finishing his studies in secondary education, he entered the workshop of the teacher Elsa Trolio (Salto, Uruguay). At the same time he studies Mathematics at the CERP Institute (Salto, Uruguay). He enters the workshop of the teacher Cristina del Castillo in the city of Paso de los Libres (Corrientes, Argentina).
Years later, he settles down in the city of Uruguaiana (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), where he becomes fundamentally self-taught. His studies include mainly Realist and even Hyperrealist painting and he develops for a long period, re-readings of masters mainly from the Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism, Naturalism and Impressionism.
Since 2009, his work is focused on representing the life and customs of the countryside, observed in his experience and work in the rural environment since childhood. Seeking to have the work of Juan Manuel Blanes as the main reference, he works since then practically the gaucho and animal genre.
Parallel to his artistic work, since 2012 he has been carrying out his realistic drawing and painting workshop developed at ELBA (Escuela Libre de Bellas Artes), a space promoted by the Secretary of Culture of the City Council. In addition to his individual exhibitions in Brazil and Uruguay; collective exhibitions and fairs in the USA, Italy, and Uruguay, in 2013 he won the First Prize in the "Encuentros del Arte Contemporaneo" Contest, promoted at the International Art Fair "Expo Punta Arte", in Punta del Este (Uruguay).
His style of Realist painting seeks the energetic representation of light, methodologically using the Chiaroscuro Caravagista and the vibrant chromatic interaction of Impressionism. For this reason, his work is influenced by Maestro Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Sorolla, Leffel and Nerdum.
