Arditti, José
Born in 1938 in the city of Montevideo (Uruguay).
1957- Studies drawing and painting with professor José Gurvich in Torres García's workshop.
1962- Studies painting with professor Edgardo Ribeiro, participating in all the workshop's exhibitions.
1967- He designs and makes two murals in Punta del Este, Miguez Building, of 26 square meters, respectively.
1968- Founds his own workshop. He attends Secondary School, graduating as a teacher of Drawing and Plastic Expression. He works as a teacher in State and Private Institutes.

1976- Participates in the Young East Painting Contest at the American Art Museum, Maldonado, being awarded the "El País" Prize. Collective Exhibition at the Atlántica Country Club. 1977-Makes a 20 square meter mural at the Signal School (Ipiranga) San Pablo (Brazil). Invited to exhibit at the Museo Didáctico Artiguista, Punta del Este (Uruguay).
1978-Makes a 10 square meter mural at the Uruguayan Consulate, San Pablo (Brazil). Makes a 14-square-meter mural at the Industry Federation, Sao Paulo (Brazil). Exhibits at Terraza Martini Paulista, Sao Paulo (Brazil). Group exhibition at Eucatex Gallery, Sao Paulo (Brazil).
1979 - Participates in the collective exhibition of the Banco de la República Oriental del Uruguay. Exhibition at the Uruguayan Consulate, San Pablo (Brazil). Exhibition at Rio de la Plata Gallery (Brazil).
1980- Exhibition at Poster Gallery, San Pablo (Brazil). Exhibition at Central America Gallery, Sao Paulo, (Brazil).
1982- Directs and teaches painting classes in Primary and Secondary School at the Crandon Institute and in his own workshop in Montevideo. Makes a commemorative poster for the 50th anniversary of the Sephardic Israeli Community of Uruguay.
1983- He takes part in the National Salon of Plastic Arts. Exhibits at the San José Municipal Hall, receiving the "Obras Sanitarias del Estado" acquisition award. Intervenes in the XXXI Municipal Salon of Plastic Arts of Montevideo. Exhibits at Moretti Gallery, Montevideo (Uruguay). Intervenes in the IV Salon of Painting of the Automobile Club of Uruguay in Montevideo, obtaining the acquisition prize. Exhibits at the Cultural Institute Uruguay- Israel Montevideo (Uruguay). Exhibits at Alianza Francesa del Melo, Cerro Largo (Uruguay). Collective exhibition at Vía Venetto Gallery, Punta del Este (Uruguay).
1984 - Exhibits at the Uruguayan-Israeli Institute, Montevideo (Uruguay). Exhibition at Venetto Gallery, Punta del Este, Maldonado (Uruguay). Exhibits at the Didactic Artist Museum, Maldonado (Punta del Este). Participates in the BIO Plastic Arts Competition, Punta del Este, Maldonado (Uruguay). He exhibits his work at the María Molina Gallery in Punta del Este, Maldonado (Uruguay) and participates in the V Salón Municipal de San José, where he wins the Banco Hipotecario acquisition prize. Exhibits at the Image Center in the Municipal Subway, group exhibition, Montevideo (Uruguay). Exhibition at the Municipality of Montevideo (Uruguay). Exhibits at the Inca painting contest in Montevideo (Uruguay). Exhibits at Moretti Gallery, Montevideo (Uruguay). He takes part in the 1st Municipal Salon of Durazno. He takes part in the 32nd Salón Municipal de Montevideo, obtaining the 2nd prize. He takes part in the 5th Salon de Pintura del Automóvil Club del Uruguay, Montevideo (Uruguay).

Makes two Concrete Murals in the Crandon Institute of 3 meters by 2 meters. Collective exhibition at the Plastic Arts Hall of the Batllista Group for the Social Condition of Women. Exhibits at the Center for the Arts, Montevideo (Uruguay). Exhibition Hall of Arts B'nal B'rith oriental Special Guest Inca Competition. Participates in the VI Municipal Exhibition of San José, (Uruguay). Collective Exhibition at the Juana de América Hall, sponsored by the Municipality of Cerro Largo, Melo (Uruguay). There are also works of his in private collections in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Spain, U.S.A, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico and Venezuela. Individual exhibition in Galería Latina, and he exhibits in the Subte Municipal. Sponsored by the Embassy of Israel. Collective exhibition. Exhibits contest Inca.
